The Creature Commandos, the first DCU series, has all sorts of that to offer, like revisiting the past and looking into the future.

Personally, I like Zack Snyder and James Gunn the most for bringing the DC cinematic experience into the modern day. However, Zack was at Netflix while he was prepping his return to World War B with a 300 project, and James was now co-helming with Peter Safran, who had been involved with DC for a long time and was one of its producers. into the spotlight now that he’s taken over as helm of DC Studios, the first thing he’s doing is doing the same with Creature Commandos, with a fresh start that will be seen by most as what I believe…

a crazy mashup of the world of superheroes, gods and deities, and monstrous troops. I’ve seen the first few episodes of this and consider this to be a crazy kickstart for the entire DCU with some clever flashbacks and some cameos from unknown and popular DCU characters. While the overall plot was great, I personally love the horrific storyline about the character’s origins and the smooth and clean high-quality animation, although James clarifies that “everyone knows Superman’s origins by now, so why do we even need to repeat it?” , he definitely gives these characters the spotlight of the original like he did in MCU, while the series also does a satire on the current situation and really crazy events of the world and mix them with DCU locations and events like Metropolis and Themyscira, consider all this: the villain Circe crashed the party and somehow revealed the whole conspiracy in later episodes, the music is quite nostalgic, the series also features several homages to DC Comics classics, monster movies from Hammer and Universal, animes, the French-Belgian “Bande Dessinee” and their “Ligne Claire”, Spanish culture, European movies, action movies these days, this is all a pretty monstrous start for the DCU, but the best is yet to come …for now, that’s DCU and ita Futures and Elseworlds (we’ve got Batman and the Joker, but are Snyderverse and Ayer out, are Reeves and Keaton in?) just kicked off with Superman in 2025, look forward to more episodes and more DCU.P.S.
